You can use a serial console. You need a crossover cable between the i386
first serial port and the imac. You'll need a terminal emulator on the
imac, configured for 9600 bauds, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
Then use the boot-com* floppies, you should see the boot process on the
serial console.
