Ok, to get things straight:
- - scrolling works on the G3 but not on the PowerBook
- - both don't fill the screen completely
- - both get the resolution right
?

I just noticed that both show
machfb0: 16 MB aperture at 0x82000000, 4 KB registers at 0x00000000
I'm not sure if it really uses the registers BAR, but since the blitter 
seems to work fine on the G3 despite this I don't think it's something 
to worry about.
