Nathan Williams also stated that this difference is due to kernel locking.
I have not had time to post his comments, but I plan to do so soon. It is
purely a seat of the pants feeling, but networking like ssh feels snappier
on SP than MP.

The MP config file includes the SP config file and adds the above option.
