Hello,

some recent commit must have changed the console handling a bit, 
although I have no idea what it could be. The symptoms: kernel output 
appears on the console, as usual, but every userland output between 
loading init and the login prompt doesn't. The whole thing is 
unresponsive in this time, although the boot process apparently works 
just fine, the output just doesn't make it to the console. Afterwards 
everything seems normal.

any ideas?
