I seem to remember seeing this once before. You could try this 
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-toolchain/2000/11/23/0001.html or try 
adding -fPIC and see if that fixes it. There are quite a few posts to 
the mailing list on this subject. You can search them from 
www.netbsd.org.
