Subject: 2.0's GENERIC turns the computer off in the middle of booting

I have a netbsd/macppc G3 266MHz laptop from year 1998. The laptop shuts 
itself down after the kernel has written the line obb: something. I don't 
have any extra hardware connected. The laptop worked well with 1.6.2 and with its GENERIC but not with 2.0's. Any 
suggestions?
