As an owner of 4400... I can say YES. Before dismantling your whole
computer to look for something broken, check the battery. The machien
will jsut be like dead without battery.

Also, it has NOT the standard Mac battery as Tim says, but an alcaline
block 4.5V (IIRC) with a small power chord. Some PC's used that and the
6210 has the same battery.
