It isn't. The XFree drivers are unchanged, in theory all of them should work now. The only problem is that XFree runs into trouble when trying to use two graphics boards through different host bridges or if your graphics card is not accessible through wscons for some reason. There's no easy workaround, but almost any card supported by XFree on other platforms which works as OF console should also work on macppc now. 
The only thing that's tied to a SCSI ID is that I disabled sync negotiation for ID6 ( that's an option in the kernel config file ) because ZIP drives just hang there. This is apparently a bug in the ZIP drive's firmware and it's not mesh specific - there's a note somewhere which warns against using a ZIP on esp ( the external SCSI bus ) - I'd bet it would sort of work with sync disabled for the appropriate target.
