Hmm, http://www.netbsd.mirrors.pair.com/Ports/macppc/models.html#pbg3s
only lists the rev 2 Beige PowerMac G3 as having OpenFirmware 2.4. I
had a Wallstreet before I sold it and picked up a PDQ and it was 2.0.1
as well. The only difference between the Wallstreet and PDQ is a
RagePro video chip with more VRAM, 66 MHz system bus instead of 83 MHz
and different screen options.

The Wallstreet and Mainstreet came out before the PDQ so I'd have a hard
time with them having a newer OFW rev than the PDQ. The next laptop they
made was the Lombard which had built in USB and OFW 3.

Not that any of this really matters :) I'm pretty sure there's at least
one person on this list that has the rev 2 beige G3 for you. There's quite
a bit of confusion surrounding the Beige G3's though. I don't think
anybody has really figured out which versions of the ROM DIMM do what
exactly. AFAIK the breakdown is:

Rev A : stock rev 1 Beige G3 ROM OFW 2.0f1
Rev B : later model ROM for rev 1 Beige G3, adds Master/slave IDE support
to classic MacOS OFW 2.0f1, fixes some G3/G4 cpu upgrades
Rev C : released close to the end or after the end of the model run of the
Rev 1 boards to fix issues with G3/G4 ZIF CPU upgrade cards OFW 2.0f1
Rev D : stock rev 2 Beige G3 ROM OFW 2.4 (broken floppy support, working
ELF support?)

The nice thing about Windows is - It does not just crash, it displays a
dialog box and lets you press 'OK' first.
