Hi,

I've decided to get a faster ethernet card for my colocated macppc machine
(you never know when the next DDoS attack will happen), so I opted for a
64 bit PCI 3Com 3c996 since the card's been around for a while and it's
specifically listed as supported.

However, it isn't happy. Here is how it reports in my dmesg (note this is
2.0 beta from 200407090000):

bge0 at pci2 dev 2 function 0: Broadcom BCM5701 Gigabit Ethernet
bge0: interrupting at irq 52
bge0: pcistate failed to revert
bge0: ASIC BCM5701 B5 (0x0105), Ethernet address 00:02:a5:e7:38:83
brgphy0 at bge0 phy 1: BCM5701 1000BASE-T media interface, rev. 0
brgphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, 1000baseT, 1000baseT-FDX, auto

Thinking that it might just be a warning, I tried the card; I could ping
another host, and the packet apparently made it to the wire (the light on
the card blinked), but the machine registered nothing.

Anyone?
