Hi folks

I'm running out of ideas about how to work with the iBook G4.

1) Booting from CD-ROM: works, but once sysinst is started, the machine
won't answer keystrokes anymore. I thought the keyboard was missing, but
I finnally wonder if the machine could not be just crashed. Booting with
-d and setting breakpoints on system calls, I can see that the keyboard
works perfectly in ddb.

It stops answering at the time it asks the terminal type. Any idea?

2) Booting from the network: OF loads ofwboot.xcf, but ofwboot.xcf is
unable to mount the NFS root. I can see loops of
19:29:17.390108 0.0.0.0.bootpc > 255.255.255.255.bootps: xid:0xffffff04
file ""[|bootp]
19:29:17.423297 gizmo.local.bootps > katabatic.local.bootpc:
xid:0xffffff04 Y:katabatic.local S:violette.local [|bootp] [tos 0x10]

The iBook G3 will finnally say gem0: device timeout. I suspect it is
unable to actually read anything from the network. Difficult to debug
without an already running system.

Booting the kernel on a CD-ROM, using the CD-ROM as the root: will die
with lost interrupts when trying to mount the root.

Anyone has a sugestion to move forward?
