using dev / ls I set the full path to the output-device, not just
"screen"

something like
/bandit@F4000000/ATY,Mach64@F

(this is fake)

besides, since the two cards are the same and put in the same place,
they should act the same if put in the same place
(dev / ls lists them identically). It must me an OF / card rom
incompatibility I fear.
