All that stuff shouldn't be of any importance.

CPU should be ok, try to reset the P-RAM by holding opt-cmd-P-R during 
startup. Then reconfigure all Open Firmware settings. Double check that 
the external SCSI chain is terminated. Try to boot from the external 
CD-ROM. If it doesn't work, try a second time. Remember: If you get a 
DEFAULT CATCH inside OpenFirmware _nothing_ will work unless you do a 
reset-all first.
