Actually, there is native support for the Sun 1.3.1 JDK for i386,
sparc and powerpc. Patchset 9 to the BSD sources has just been very
kindly created by Greg Lewis. To find out more, you'll need to get
the patches and instructions from Patchset 9 by going via:

	http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/JDK13SCSLConfirm.html

and then apply them to the 1.3.1 jdk which you can get from Sun.
Please note that to get the patchset, you'll have to agree to abide by
the terms of the SCSL.
