Sure the cards work, but the issue was whether one could use them to boot
the system from Open Firmware.

Actually, I have had numerous problems with heavy loads on Adaptec cards
even after swapping out the cable and trying two different sets of drives.
I've tried a 2940U2W, a 2940UW, a 2940U, and a 2930, and all show the same
problem at 80, 40, 20, and 10 MB/sec. A 40 MB/sec Symbios based SCSI card
works just fine.

Note that for my testing I was running two cvs updates and doing two or
three simultaneous copies to simulate a heavy load; maybe these cards work
fine with just one drive or when only doing one job at a time, but I could
never use them in this state.

Is anyone else seeing this with Adaptec cards, or is this something only I
am seeing? I'm running 1.6 release, BTW, compiled from sources from a few
weeks ago. Should I create a PR?

Thanks,
John Klos
