You cannot boot in OpenFirmware from a slave device with this
machine at any ROM revision so far as we know. Classic MacOS *will* boot
from a slave device if you have a rev B or later ROM IIRC. But if you want
to boot from OpenFirmware (NetBSD, Linux, MacOS X, etc.) it has to be the
master on whatever channel.

I'm trying to port NetBSD to my cup of tea, but it keeps kernel panicking
on refill. This is odd, because I ported it to my toaster and my bookcase
easily enough and it survives bread- and book-replacement fine.

Any hints?
