Where are these patches? I have problems shutting X down on my iBook,
which has an ATI Mobility card in it. What seems to be happening is
that X dies during shutdown with SIGABRT, and leaves a core file in
/. This happens every time I quit X. The annoying thing is that this
leaves the graphics card in a wierd state - the screen does not get
cleared properly (the screen is cleared to a random colour, sometimes
with a horizontal bar of cross-hatch in black and white), and the
screen refresh is changed so that the whole screen flickers badly.

I'm wondering if the patches you mention would help me.

Thanks,

Ian.
