NetBSD people,

I realise that my PowerBook 1400 - 603 PPC archictecture isn't yet,
formally, supported by NetBSD. And I've been trying to install a *nix on
this machine for a while now. My initial problem is with the ugly RH
installer which seems to require far too much RAM, as such, before I get
more memory I can't install. And attempts to install from w/o the
installer, ie, to mkfs the system (when the hard drive was stripped from the
computer into a PC didn't work), presumably because mkfs works on the basis
of a dos partition table.

Therefore, in your humble opinions, would MkLinux work w/ a DOS partition as
formatted by disk charmer ? Or would NetBSD work, because the only primary
problem is in getting the machine to boot, via the MkLinux extension ? Or
is there considerably more work required to go into this that I've
overlooked.

TIA,

Russell Hyer
