I am a liar! I threw a TI TSB12LV26 FireWire card (Belkin, BestBuy, $35)
and it worked! Imagine my suprise. I should have connected my iPod to see
if it mounted. Anyway here's my dmesg, your friends should be similar
minus the three PCI cards I have in there, and he will have Rage Pro
onboard, and he hasn't overclocked his CPU and FSB, Probably not a
Lonestar CPU either. My overclocking may be what was causing the scsi bus
to misbehave, not sure yet.

It appears that the onboard IDE controller only does DMA Mode 2. Wow, MESH
is running at 50MHz, too bad the device attachments don't say what mode
they're using like pciide :(
