Hi!

I'm currently not subscribed to this list, so please cc me in your reply.

Well, I finally managed to boot the 1.6 release install floppy on a
Network Server 500, with serial console.

The first question is that why do I need this serial console thing...
With regular local console, NetBSD starts to boot, and the bootloader's
messages are readable on the screen, but when the kernel is started,
every output becomes balck on black. Can't this be solved somehow?

My more serious problem is that this NS500 has an Apple PCI Ethernet
100BaseTX ethernet adapter, which seems to cause some fatal error when
accessed. The session log is included below. Does anyone have some
suggestion as to why this may happen and how to solve it?

thx mortee
