Oops, didn't know that - I'm using NetBSD on other machines since the old 1.1 days and got into macppc pretty recently so it just escaped my 
attention :-)

Yeah, after some rather unfortunete experiments I stayed with the stable releases, so i assume(d) that no port has stable SMP yet.
