Have you tried to retry boot with the same command line (up/down 
arrow should avoid you the pain to retype).
It works here (first time, I get: Can't OPEN blabla, second time it 
loads the bootloader. However, this one doesn't want to load the 
kernel from the FFS partition and from the CD it loads the kernel 
fine and then it crashes).
