dear all,

for two days now, i am trying to get this 500MP G4 with gigabit 
ethernet hooked onto my home network via a 10baseT hub.
yes, i did check the cables; i rebooted the machine into macos 
without touching the cables and ping worked fine, so it should'nt be 
a hardware problem.
ifcongig tells me the interface is up, autoconfigured at 10baseT.
pinging the loopback and assigned addresses works without a hitch.
i've looked into the mailarchives and found some things about gm that 
didnt apply to my problem.
i'm stuck.
help me.
