  Hi,

I recently tried to install XFree on my PB 1999
(WallStreet) with ATI Rage LP Pro with 4M of video
ram. I tied with both the stable and the -current
kernels and with both XFree 4.0.1 and XFree 4.2
(I used the precompile versions I fount in the
NetBSD site). In both case XFree was not able
to found my video card and failed the startup.
Notice that, in a first time, it found my card.
I do not undertand what happens.
It follows the log for the 4.0.1 (The log for
the 4.2 is quite different, but the result the
same). I tried also to specify the video ram size,
the PCI slot (0:17:0) and to use both the "ati"
and the "mach64" options, but the result is alwais
the same.
I spent a lot of time to install NetBSD and I
absolutely need a UNIX version on my mac. For
various reasons I prefere BSD to Linux, but I
am not able to use my external kensington mouse
with Xmacppc and I can not use XFree. It is too
bad. Plese, help me.
Thank you very much in advace for everyone,
   best regards,

                       Marco
