Please do file a PR. Be specific about the hardware...

I haven't. I just built a totally GENERIC kernel from -current sources
and it boots and runs fine on my iBook. Of course, the iBook doesn't
have any PCMCIA or CardBus, so if it's an interaction with that stuff,
I'd never notice.
