You have to recompile the kernel, IIRC, since there are drivers missing. 
Otherwise, it should work, I think, with Unsupported UtilityX.  Mac OS X
doesn't use the Mac OS ROM.  Now I'm not saying classic will work, since
that does use the ROM file.  No idea on that one.
