No no, you've got me all wrong -- I want to *remove* pain.  Right now,
there's a big inconsistency between the installer and the OS which
confuses new users as soon as they start trying to use the OS.

That's an excellent reason for keeping de as default.  But the tlp stuff
should at least be present in GENERIC for all of the devices not supported
by de (and the TLP_MATCH should then be present but commented out).

OK, as long as there isn't an inconsistency between INSTALL and GENERIC.
