from what I have read this is only an issue with the /chaos/control machines. 
mine has a PCI card rather than onboard video, and that's where my problem 
lies. Another helpful poster has suggested my card may not grok OF (a 
possibility since this isn't the original card). I'll investigate that later 
tonight. 

I'd like to get X working as well: XF86setup isn't available, I notice. So 
I'll dig into the FAQ and see what I need to do there. 

And finally, I learned today the netbsd/macppc isn't supported in the newer 
SANE releases (like 1.0.5 and 1.0.6). Has anyone had any luck with them?
