I have a similar problem with LinuxPPC on my PowerBook G4 after the
machine has been connected to Internet, but each time with a 8-hour
shift!

dmesg says:

GMT Delta read from XPRAM: -480 minutes, DST: off

I asked about this problem in several newsgroups and in the LinuxPPC
mailing-list, but no solution... :(
