Though we don't have native Firewire disk drivers yet, you may well be able
to use firewire drives with the "ofdisk" driver under NetBSD on your 
PowerMac.  As Nathan pointed out in some private email, it's likely that you
would have to *not* build any FireWire support into your kernel to get this
to work.
