OK, I downloaded the 1.5.1 distribution sets to an 8500-equivalent
running 1.5 BETA with a D-Link 100BaseT card and got a bit more than
300KB/sec early this afternoon.

I used sysinst on a G4 AGP at around 5PM (Pacific) and was getting
around 6KB/sec before I gave up.

Should I assume it was a difference between the install kernel and a
GENERIC one or should I assume it was the time of day? I find it
hard to believe there was enough local congestion to matter. In
either case I'll probably install from a local copy rather than
direct the next time I try.
