For what I read on some sources, there are very few things I can do with
the builtin video on my 8600.

I even don't know wich model it is (the OF driver answers with Apple's
vendor ID), I've been told it's an ATI mach64.

In fact, the only video device I got is OpenFirware console.

To summarize :
- wscons is not available
- XFree is not available (Emmanuel, did you succeed ? )
- Xmacppc is limited to 640*480 8 bits resolution

Well, no problem for a server, but for a station, it's a bit limited, I
think.

Some clues, some (cheap) 3rd parties card to advise ?

Thanks,
