:)Does NetBSD 1.5 run on the latest PowerMac G4 and PowerMac G4 Cubes equally
:)well? I have a PowerMac G4 that's about a year old, but it looks like Apple
:)has tweaked at least a few things since then.

http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/macppc/models.html
lists all known working models according to the names Apple gives them.
AFAIK no one has tried any of the "new" cubes with the CD-RW drive.

:)Specifically, on the Cubes, is the built in ethernet supported?

Yes, it should be.

:)For various reasons, I'd prefer to run a stock 1.5 kernel, rather than
:)something compiled from -current.

If you can wait a month or so, then just install 1.5.1 -- it fixes many
problems with 1.5. Alternatively you should probably try the 1.5.1 beta
(equivalent to a "code freeze" in any other project).

:)Also, I've read briefly about some issues with the latest version of
:)OpenFirmware. Does this affect the G4 or G4 Cube?

Other than the RAM issues which are OS-independent, there have only been
reported failures to boot NetBSD on the PowerBook G4 due to this firmware.
If anyone knows otherwise please let me know so I can update the webpages.

Good luck,
