Greetings,

I am also having a problem installing 1.5 on a blue g3. However, it is not the same as yours, yet.

I just wanted to ask you how you were able to partition your drive for the installation. The installer refuses to see any drives to install NetBSD on and I have two ide drives.

I would really appreciate your help.

Subject: problems installing on a blue g3

Hi,

(I posted 2 weeks ago a message regarding my problems cross-compiling
a install kernel for macppc. To summarize, I need to compile a
custom install kernel since the Wasabi install kernel from the cd
doesn't support the pciide controller)

I now can cross-compile a kernel with proper install md image
included, but have now encountered a new problem:

The kernel (I used the GENERIC_MD configuration) boots and I can enter
the sysinst program or a shell.

But accessing the pciide harddisks simply hangs. Consider a simple

        dd if=/dev/rwd0c of=blafile bs=512 count=1

It simply hangs and after I ^C it, no blafile is generated.
I can successfully access the cdrom (but it's on a different
controller).

I've attached the boot messages but they look ok to me.

Any help appreciated,

regards,
chris
