maybe, but for serial console I've always used cables without flow
control (i.e. only ground,Tx,Rx) and I've never had problem with others
arch. 

Anyway it seems that I'm out of luck with this machine for now: it's a
601 (could be added to the hardware page as unsupported).

For fun, I tried to netboot it (1.0.5 OF), it dies when loading ofwboot.xcf:
