It should work with serial lines. The reason I am saying so is: 
I have experience with StarMax 3000/240, 3000/200, 4000/160, with serial
console working on NetBSD. Those are very much similar model with 4400/200,
so called Tanzania board equipped. Open Firmware is 2.0.2.
