Are you sure? I seem to remember my 8500 coming up in more than 640x480
after messing with it. It took both adding OF patches to get
/chaos/control working (it wasn't pausing enough at boot to work
right) and setting the video mode in OF. Yes, it was in 640x480 for most
of the time, but I thought I eventually got better than 640x480??
