If the DNS server of your domain is under your controll,
and if you setup reverse name lookup setup, it won't take a time.
I had exactly the same situation before.

If you have NO DNS server next to your location, 
I read a suggestion putting following setup in your /etc/hosts
to avoid unnecessay IPv6 lookup,

127.0.0.1       localhost
192.168.1.2     your_hostname
::ffff:192.168.1.2      your_hostname
