I have a blue and white G3 with 192MB of ram, 2 ATA hard disks, and a 1 GB
SCSI hard disk with an Adaptec Power Domain 2930CU adapter. I am installing
versioin 1.4.2 on the SCSI hard disk. I am using yaboot and Open Firmware.
Everything goes well until the kernel gets to the point where it says "root
on md0a dumps on md0b". At this point the system hangs every time and I have
to do a cold reboot with the reset button on the computer. I know there have
been problems with the Adaptec 2930, but during the loading, the kernel
correctly identifies the scsi host and the hard disk attached to it. What
gives?
