That's what I'm running on my 7500.  Every later kernel I've built or
downloaded has been non-functional as tmpowell@yellowsub.net described.

At one point I tried to track down the problem and failed to make much sense
of the scsi subsystem.  I suspect picking a simpler part of the kernel for
one's self-introduction to kernel hacking would be more productive...  ;)
