Ha, that's the tool I missed. I finally crated the
Apple_UNIX_SVR2 partitions with pdisk, and edited the partition table with
hexedit to set the magic number and flags in the Apple_UNIX_SVR2 blocks.
Not really user fiendly but can be done in a reasonable time :)

Hum, on mine the root partition appears as wd0g, wd0a is some mac-specific
partition ...
