Hi,

I recently aquired a Sonnet G3 350MHz processor card upgrade for
my Mac 7600. Using the new CPU card with MacOS works fine, and
there's an appreciable difference in speed.

However, great was my disappointment when I discovered that I
could not boot the NetBSD drive on my system anymore. Of course
this is with the much-feared OF 1.0.5. Now I get:

0 > boot scsi-int/sd@1:0 RESETing SCSI bus
RESETing SCSI bus
 can't OPEN: scsi-int/sd@1:0
 ok
0 >

even though I try the same repeatedly (earlier, the first try
could fail). (Oh, yes, my NetBSD drive is at SCSI id 1.) I
can't remember seeing the "RESETing SCSI bus" messages from my
earlier attempts when the old processor was installed.

Of course, the Sonnet upgrade also came with some software which
installed "things" in my nvram. Of course I have absolutely no
idea what those patches actually do. I retried with "use-
nvramrc?" set to false (power-on/off cycle), that didn't make any
difference, though.

I also tried defining the 'wBoot' command (from the nvram patches
reachable via the FAQ) and use that as the boot command, but that
apparently didn't change the behaviour what I could see.

At this point, hints will be much appreciated.

Best regards,
