As far as I can tell from posts here, the built-in ethernet is not
supported yet, you'd need to use a PCI ethernet card.  The standard
distributions (1.4.2 is the latest) does not support it.  You need to
compile (or somehow else get) a new kernel from -current source.  See

Every once in a while, someone builds a snapshot of -current, to be found
in <ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/macppc/snapshot/> although there
aren't any recent enough to support G4.

Any chance someone could build a new snapshot?  The last was in Feb.
