I haven't had any trouble with IDE/ATAPI devices in my Beige G3 under
1.4.1. I would however be very wary of the ZIP drive. IMHO all Iomega
devices are *EVIL* :) I've found that neither my DECstation 5000's or my
Mac are very pleased with my ZIP drive. You might try disconnecting the
ZIP drive and set the CDROM to master if it isn't already. I've also heard
that certain models of Matshita CD-ROM's don't make NetBSD happy. Try with
just the HD connected period and if that works, try adding devices until
you can figure out where things are going wrong. Hope that helps.
