First, what kind of Macintosh are you using, and what kind of video card
do you have?  Are you booting from a serial console?

This is the exact same messgae I get when I run startx.  I am running
NetBSD on a Performa 6400/200 with Valkyrie video - so I can't use X on it
right now.  Perhaps if I buy a new video card...
