Somehow I don't think the contents of the nvram is the problem.
I do however think that either OpenFirmware or NetBSD (or both)
are not taking heed to what's stored there.  (I've OF 1.0.5, and
my Mac is a 7600/132)

I also have MacOS (7.5.3?) and LinuxPPC installed on this
machine.

MacOS only offers a single choice for screen resolution, 832x624,
at 75Hz (three possible color depths, though).

LinuxPPC reports video-mode 13, color-mode 2.

Does this tell anyone anything?
