I have successfully installed netbsd (I believe) onto an ata drive in 
my beige g3 (rev 1).  I have *not* successfully figured out how to 
get the machine to boot from this device.  This machine has no 
support for slave drives, so I installed it on the 2nd ata bus.  I 
have also been looking through 6 months of port-macppc and various 
netbsd sites for this information.  If anyone could help me out, I 
would be much obliged.
