I've made some progress and gotten current installed on my C500.

From the responses I got here I learned it was not possible to
cross-compile a boot floppy on my mac68k box so I went a different
route. I downloaded the sets and burned a ISO-9660 CD and it worked
flawlessly (I needed an excuse to buy a burner anyway). I had a little
trouble getting it to boot from the IDE disk but running System Disk
from the Darwin SDK CD seems to have patched OF and now it boots right
up. I love booting straight into NetBSD! I've got the machine running
headless, accessed through Z-TERM on my Mac OS box.

Neither ep0 & de0 interfaces work for the two cards I have (Farallon
10/100 & Dayna 10BT). I downloaded the current source because Dan had
mentioned a tlp driver that might work with the Dayna (de). I don't see
an option for that driver in the conf files, is there another way to
access it? I don't know if it makes any difference but the card does
have a Digital chip on it, I don't remember what number, I'll check when
I'm at home.

I'm having a problem configuring to compile on this machine, when I run
config GENERIC (or whatever) I get something like:
../../config syntax error. (I don't remember the exact message, again,
I'll check when I get home.) This is probably something simple, any ideas?

One last question if I may. I'd like to hook the serial line coming from
the C500 into my m68K Quadra and access it from NetBSD. That way I can
ssh into my Quadra from work and play around with the C500. Do I need to
use a comm program like minicom to do that?

Thanks in advance. I'm excited about getting this machine up and running
as my gateway box.

cheers,

Matthew Reilly
