As already noted, the Adaptec cards are supported in -current and
(pending Dan getting a 1.4.1 CVS or Bill getting an Adaptec card) will
soon be in -release as well.

It's just a timing thing.

You might get the -current source, compile a kernel, and see if you
can use your card.
