What I did was to go back into the installer and reinstall. When it gave me
the option to edit the partions I added "e:" as an msdos partition of 100
MB. (Some space to fool around, plus if I can mount it in MacOS it is an
easy way to move data and stuff back and forth.)

The only problem I've run into is that I can't seem to mount the partition
in either Mac or BSD. On the upside is that now that I've got a functional
system, I can boot with netbsd-GENERIC from the June 20 release and get
right into the file system. Downside, I've been unable to get vi to run so
I can edit rc.conf.

I have boot a kernel off of an msdos partition before, so that should work.
It's position on the disk may be somewhat of a problem, tucked in there
just before the /usr partition may not work. I may try again and move it to
the front.

Any suggestions on how to get vi to let me edit?
